Can we really make it? Day 6 & 7: Today is the day. Today is the toughest of all of them, in which we spend from 6am to 4am (with a lunch break) trekking and scrambling back up to 4,600m, and then after three to four hours sleep, wake up at midnight for the summit at 5895m. Our first reality check… Day four: (Day two of climb) Phew! This day definitely comes as a surprise. It’s a very cold start to the morning, and after the relaxing and green ascent of day one, the steep ascents definitely shock the system. It may not be the toughest day to come, but we are definitely caught off guard: after waking up at 6 to leave by 7am. Even though the porters wake us warmly with smiles, black tea and coffee and a good breakfast – we’re still complaining

In late June, MAXX was privileged enough to receive a visit from the talented performers at Angel’s charity. Angel’s – a charity that MAXX supports and has designed the website for – brings children from struggling communities in Nigeria, South Africa and Rwanda, together to perform in the UK and beyond. Not only does this provide the children with opportunities they would never have without the scheme, but the money that is raised goes to help develop and improve their home communities.
