David’s working week

I’ve recently started at MAXX and am still settling into a working pattern. I’m still learning an awful lot and teaching myself in the evenings too.   As a junior web developer most of what I do involves coding in HTML, CSS and PHP. Clients will call Jackie, Nikki or myself and ask for changes to the web sites we manage for them. I’ve been updating a variety of web sites this week, including some for independent schools and for local firms in the Newbury area.   Every Monday MAXX

Jackie’s working week

As Operations Director at MAXX, my week is often unpredictable. I manage the web design area of MAXX and this means bringing together the various aspects of web production needed to create the end product. I cannot give you a typical working week as what I do depends on what our clients want and when, but I can let you in on the types of things that I am involved in. David’s favourite song…

…”Big River” by Johnny Cash. I’ve recently got into Johnny Cash and downloaded many of his albums. Big River is my favourite song of his. It was released in 1958 on the Sun Records label, who also signed Elvis, so the song sounds more rock and roll than country. Listen to it here…

Jackie’s most prized possession…

…my grandfather’s collection of postcards. It was passed down to me from my mother and is a wonderful collection of postcards from his time serving on merchant ships in between the wars.  

Ruth’s favourite book…

…Goodnight Mr Tom My husband Neil introduced me to this book when he taught it at his school and I’ve loved it ever since. It’s about a WW2 evacuee and his adoptive father and it makes me cry every time I read it. The book was turned into a film starring my favourite actor, John Thaw.
